Gents Journey
Taking A Breath To Create Better;
Some truths are hard to say out loud, but they matter if you care about the work and the people who support it. Today I’m candid about burnout, creative integrity, and the choice to pause before the quality slips any further. After a year that crossed 200 episodes and a run of intense, dark story arcs, the signs were clear: the craft needs recovery time. We talk about the mental load of writing layered narratives, the challenge of pairing heavy themes with personal growth, and the responsibility to deliver episodes that feel thoughtful, not rushed.
I share where the schedule stands—Drax will land for Halloween as promised, then we’ll step back for a few weeks. Thanksgiving may stay quiet while I regroup, with a likely Christmas series if the well refills the way it should. This isn’t a goodbye; it’s a reset with intention. Listeners have shown steady support even through a lighter posting stretch, and that loyalty deserves more than just hitting publish. It deserves our best ideas, sharper editing, and stories that earn your time.
If you’re a creator feeling the same strain, consider this your permission slip: rest is a strategy, not a surrender. Step back, protect your energy, and come back with work you’re proud of. Gent’s Journey isn’t going anywhere—we’re protecting the foundation so we can build better. If this resonates, follow the show, share this note with a friend who needs the reminder, and leave a review so others can find us. Your support keeps the lights warm while we reset, and we’ll return with the kind of storytelling that brought you here.
"True mastery is found in the details. The way you handle the little things defines the way you handle everything."
Hello and welcome to the Gentleman's Journey Podcast. My name is Anthony, your host. And today, guys, I'm gonna have an honest conversation with you. So let's go ahead and let's get into it. I don't know where to start this. Um I'll just be honest, guys. I've I'm burnt out. To be honest with you guys, this like pumping out content like this on a weekly basis every day has been really exhausting. Um you know, especially, and I'll be honest, like the patience of predators and then going into Drax, which are very heavy, you know, which are very intense, layered series. Realistically, I'm I'm just gonna be honest, I'm gonna I'm gonna take some time away. I will finish Drac for another this month, right? You will have that for a Halloween series, but the I am gonna take some time off. You know, after really after grandeur, to be 100% honest, guys, I I was waning. You know, I was kind of floundering just because grandeur literally was the biggest series I've ever done, layered and everything else, and not finishing that kind of showed me where I was, and then limping into my other series, and then going into this, it's it's been hard. So I I want to say, even though I haven't really recorded anything in what two and a half, three weeks, the support that I still get from you guys is absolutely unbelievable. And this is hard for me to say, guys. Sorry. It's just this is hard. It's it's hard not to say you're giving up, but that you need time away. I need to have my creative juices flowing again. I need to kind of reevaluate because I don't know if you guys know this or not, but it's really hard to write stories, especially these deep dark stories that we've been going through lately, and have a personal development spin of it, you know. I mean, if you think about it, this year already, we've done well over 200 episodes. That's that's crazy to think about, but we're well over 200. And you guys have shown up to all of them, and I can't tell you honestly how grateful and thankful I am for you showing up. And in that just out of respect to you, I'm not showing up the way that I need to for you guys. You know, they say that sometimes you can't give from an empty cup, and that's to be honest with you guys, that's what's happening. You know, the quality I believe in my series are not as good as they could be or should be, out of respect to you guys. You know, I want to give you the best possible stuff I can give you, and right now it's it's not there. So what I'm trying to say is this I'm gonna take some time off. I definitely won't have anything really for the rest of this month. I mean, we're in the, you know, I'm recording this October 21st, so we won't really have anything for the rest of this. Well, outside of Drack, but once that's done, I don't know if I'm gonna do anything for Thanksgiving. I definitely want to do a Christmas series, so there may be a three-week or a month kind of time frame where there may not be anything. So I just want to prepare that for you guys. I wanted to be upfront and honest with you guys, and also I've gotten messages asking me if I'm okay. Yes, I am okay. It's just like I said, I'm experiencing, and I'm just being honest with you guys, a little bit of burnout. And to be fair to you, I want to give you the best quality content as possible, and I'm not giving that to you guys. So I'm gonna take some time away from Gent's journey. Gent's journey's not going anywhere, right? We're still gonna be here. I'm just taking some time off. So as I'm saying this to you, or as I'm saying this to you, I should say one thing that I'm I've learned in this process of doing this stuff, is that sometimes you have to take a step back. Sometimes you have to kind of not push so hard all the time and give yourself time to realistically more than anything else recover. And that's what we're that's what I'm doing here. And if you're in that same situation, give yourself that same opportunity. So, guys, as always, I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your support, your patronage, and just you being a gentleman, and yeah, I don't really have anything else to say, guys, but I will say this as I always end with that you create your reality. Take care.
